The Benefits of consuming Delta-8 THC

What is the THC contained in cannabis plants? Many do not know the composition and effects of THC completely and limit themselves to calling it a drug without actually knowing what the effects on the human body are. THC is the best known component of cannabis: it is part of the larger class of cannabinoids, isolated for the time in 1964 thanks to the work conducted by Dr. Raphael Mechoulam.

What is THC and what are cannabinoids?

Cannabinoids such as THC are chemical substances (classified as terpenophenols), the main feature that unites them is the ability to interact with the receptors of the human endocannabinoid system, there are endogenous cannabinoids (produced by the human body), synthetic cannabinoids (recreated in the laboratory) and phytocannabinoids. Therefore, those cannabinoids that are naturally contained in Cannabis Sativa are identified as phytocannabinoids (from the Greek phyto-, plant), about seventy have been identified and many of them have not yet been carried out in-depth studies.

The effects associated with THC are generally reduced to the psychotropic effect that this substance has when taken in certain doses. This has therefore fueled its bad reputation and pro-prohibition arguments, but the THC contained in cannabis flowers has very well documented therapeutic and beneficial properties.

To really know what THC is, we must first understand that this active ingredient is responsible for many of the therapeutic and healing effects of cannabis itself. Although cannabinoid receptors are found throughout the human body, THC acts mainly on the receptors present in the nervous system and therefore this is why it has such strong psychoactive properties: relaxation, alteration of images, sounds and tastes.

Usually when we talk about THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol) we are talking about THC-9. The 9 is the one that produces the psychoactive effects that hit us when it is given to the pot. So what is delta-8?

Delta-8 is also another cannabinoid that has psychoactive effects, although it is less well known probably because its effect is less. However, delta-8 also has a rising effect some other medicinal benefit. If the studies with THC delta-9 are still in the dark (there are too many contradictions about its value as a medicine) and those of CBD are in full swing, those of delta-8 are even scarcer. Today, the TCH is widely sold, especially online by some reputable stores like Delta Extrax.

There is a seminal study from 1974 where delta-8 was given to laboratory mice. It was hoped to show how damaging delta-8 is. However, the study pointed to the possibilities of delta-8 for the fight against cancer. Another 1995 study involving Dr. Mechoulam (the person who discovered THC delta-9): This study came to say that delta-8 treatments had helped considerably in childhood cancer treatment.

The fundamental difference between delta-8 and delta-9 is that the former also has a psychoactive and analgesic function, it also opens the appetite. In that sense, it is more like CBD and helps control anxiety better than delta-9.

Can you buy delta-8? Well, it is very difficult. On the west coast of the US it is sold in some places, it is still not very popular and it is a luxury product. But if you buy online, you can easily get the best Delta 8 THC.
