The answer to the above question would be a big “Yes”. However, before we discuss how Delta-8 THC promotes the wellbeing of humans, let us explain what the substance actually is. Like cannabidiol or CBD, Delta-8 THC is also a legal cannabinoid. Its structure is similar to that of the recreational compound Delta-9 THC, which is federally illegal.

The federal government has not declared Delta 8 as an illegal cannabinoid even with the knowledge that it boasts mild psychoactive properties. That’s because the compound contributes to our wellbeing in various ways. To put it more bluntly, the benefits offered by Delta 8 THC easily outweighs its psychoactive features. Most stores that sell Delta 8 wholesale have products formulated to improve the digestive systems of users.

Delta 8 is derived from hemp, a strain of cannabis known to possess an extremely low level of Delta-9 THC. According to experts, the level of Delta 9 in hemp plants never go beyond 0.3%, which is the level approved by the Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Boasts Antitumor Properties

A 2013 study at the National Cancer Institute tested the effects of Delta 8 THC on tumors. At the end of the study, researchers found that this cannabinoid can inhibit the growth of tumors. The researchers concluded that like Delta 8 THC, cannabinol (CBN) and Delta 9 THC also showcased their ability to prevent the growth of tumors. However, experts suggest that Delta 8 is the safest of them all as it doesn’t cause a strong high in patients.

Showcases Antiemetic Properties

A 1995 study published in the prestigious journal Life Sciences revealed that Delta 8 might be able to reduce nausea in kids. The researchers who conducted the study claimed that the cannabinoid can prevent nausea in children without any side effect.

The study had eight children aged between 3 and 13 years as participants. All of them had some form of hematologic cancers. Each of the participants received a daily dose of Delta-8-tetrahydrocannabinol for eight months and was also treated with antineoplastic drugs. During these eight months, none of the children experienced symptoms like nausea and vomiting, which are common side effects of antineoplastic drugs.

Works as an Appetite-Stimulant

An animal study published in the popular journal Pharmacol Biochem in 2004 revealed that consumption of low doses of Delta 8 THC can increase appetite. The administration of the component was also found to improve the cognitive functions of the participants. However, the best thing about the findings was that Delta 8 managed to offer these health benefits without making the rodents high.

Works as a Neuroprotective Agent

During a 1987 study published in the widely read journal Alcohol & Drug Research, scientists tested the effects of Delta 8 THC on rodents with neurological disorders. The participants received daily dosages of various cannabinoids including Delta 8 for several weeks.

At the end of the study, researchers found that the rodents that received Delta 8 experienced significant improvement in their condition. Rodents that received other cannabinoids didn’t experience any such change in their symptoms. The thing that was particularly remarkable about the finding was that the mice received extremely low doses of Delta 8 THC.
